{"id":4324,"date":"2009-02-02T03:30:15","date_gmt":"2009-02-01T19:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinacsr.com\/en\/?p=4324"},"modified":"2009-02-02T05:41:10","modified_gmt":"2009-02-01T21:41:10","slug":"star-world-hotel-macau-cuts-pay-not-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinacsr.com\/en\/2009\/02\/02\/4324-star-world-hotel-macau-cuts-pay-not-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"Star World Hotel Macau Cuts Pay, Not Jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Macau Labor Affairs Bureau reports that Star World Hotel, an affiliate of the Galaxy Entertainment Group, will offer four unpaid-leave days a month from February 2, but the hotel had promised not to let go any of the employees involved in this program.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This would mean a reduction in salary of about 13.3% for the employees, according to the report. <\/p>\n<p>Star World said in an announcement to MLAB that the global financial crisis had brought big challenges to Macau's gaming industry, including Star World, and they had made a series measures to control their operating costs, including reducing the number of non-Macau-native employees in top management positions, and it would carry out the voluntary unpaid-leave program in place of cutting jobs for employees in the four positions of on-site inspection director, dealer inspector, dealer, and cashier. <\/p>\n<p>SWH pledged that it would not let go any employees involved in the program and would ensure a fair and just arrangement of overtime working by employees.
