The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will publish a new budget proposal next week focusing on creating job opportunities.<\/p>\n
According to local media reports, Hong Kong will also announce plans on funding companies that provide internships for college graduates.<\/p>\n
Through a preliminary study, Hong Kong SAR government plans to provide about HKD2,000-3,000 for each college student taking internships in enterprises in Hong Kong or the Chinese mainland. It says any company is eligible to participate in the program, and the SAR government has not set a fixed salary for students to be hired for internships.<\/p>\n
Following Hong Kong SAR government's publication of its plan to fund companies that hire college graduates as interns, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce has reportedly taken a lead in encouraging its member companies to provide about 4,000 one-year internships for graduates.<\/p>\n
