HP and Foxconn have announced that they will expand the recycling of e-waste in China.<\/p>\n
Based on HP's recycle program, the new project will make use of Foxconn's expertise and infrastructure in logistics and manufacture.<\/p>\n
Jean-Claude Vanderstraeten, environmental supervisor for HP Asia Pacific and Japan, says that they are excited to work with Foxconn to expand HP Planet Partners through which Chinese clients can choose to return waste and old electronic products for a responsible recycling process. Jean-Claude Vanderstraeten said that this project will help HP take an important step toward the realization of its goal of recycling 900,000 tons of electronics by 2010.<\/p>\n
Hank Chiang, the social environment responsibility manager of Foxconn, said that through the cooperation with HP, Foxconn is able to provide value-added services to HP's clients and this also fits into the company's environment strategy. In addition, this will help Foxconn expand its own recycling capacity and speed up the construction of an environment-friendly manufacturing process, which is a long term goal for the company.<\/p>\n
According to relevant rules, HP will provide HP Planet Partners' services in China free of charge. Products recycled through the program will be used in the local market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
