Liu Jing, the deputy director of the China Association of Social Workers, has told local media that the 2009 China Charity List will soon be released and, for the first time, it will reveal the names of companies that had promised to make donations but failed to do so.<\/p>\n
According to Liu, Chinese companies actively donated to the disaster relief efforts following the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008, with total donations, both corporate and personal, of more than CNY100 billion. However, some companies which had pledged to donate have not yet fulfilled their promise.<\/p>\n
It is learned that the department compiling the list will blacklist these companies for their inefficiency and announce their names to the public and media to urge them to keep their promises.<\/p>\n
