Thirty Shenzhen-based companies combined to hold a job fair in Zhouqu County, Gansu, which was affected by the devastating earthquake in May 2008 and offered more than 18,000 jobs to help with the reconstruction of the region.<\/p>\n
The 30 enterprises, which include foreign-funded companies, state-owned enterprises, Hong Kong and Taiwan-funded companies, and private companies, provided a total of 18,249 jobs for the local people. The jobs they offered included house-keeping and child minding, accounting for 70% of the jobs offered; unskilled work and operating jobs, accounting for 21.6%; security, accounting for 1.3%; retail and food staff, accounting for 2.8%; cashiers, accounting for 0.7%; technicians, accounting for 0.9%; and repairmen, storehouse keepers and cleaners, accounting for 2.7%.<\/p>\n
It is understood that over 80% of these companies own self-developed intellectual property rights and have great growth potentials. A representative from Shenzhen Municipal Labor and Social Security Department stated that some companies in Shenzhen plan to expand their production in April, and beside helping reconstruct the earthquake area, the job fair also helps these companies solve their labor shortage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
