{"id":5239,"date":"2009-05-14T03:32:30","date_gmt":"2009-05-13T19:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chinacsr.com\/en\/?p=5239"},"modified":"2009-05-13T13:56:14","modified_gmt":"2009-05-13T05:56:14","slug":"wanglaoji-uses-unapproved-herbal-medicines-in-beverage-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chinacsr.com\/en\/2009\/05\/14\/5239-wanglaoji-uses-unapproved-herbal-medicines-in-beverage-products\/","title":{"rendered":"Wanglaoji Uses Unapproved Herbal Medicines In Beverage Products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yan Weixing, the deputy director of nutrition and food safety for the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, has disclosed to local media that the Guangzhou-based Wanglaoji Pharmaceutical Company has used herbal medicines that have not been approved by the Ministry of Health for its beverage products.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Earlier, China media reported that a consumer from Hangzhou got ulcer of stomach after drinking Wanglaoji Cool Tea and the doctor's diagnosis showed that the patient had a stomach cold, which might have some affiliations with the herbal medicine in the Cool Tea.<\/p>\n<p>Yan confirmed that Wanglaoji had used in its beverage products ingredients and raw materials that are not on the list of the Ministry of Health.
