China's State Council has held a meeting to arrange measures to further strengthen the nation's employment situation.<\/p>\n
It is learned from the meeting that China's central financial authority will arrange funding of CNY42 billion in 2009 to promote employment in the country. This is an increase of 66.7% over the previous year.<\/p>\n
It is reported in local media that five measures have been put forward on the meeting for promoting employment, including focusing on key groups like college graduates and implementing special vocational training programs.<\/p>\n
In addition, it was been decided at the meeting that subsidies will be offered to college students who go to take internships in the middle and west regions of the country, and a pilot policy shall be made to expand unemployment insurance in seven regions in the east part of China.<\/p>\n
It was stated that by the end of April 2009, about 3.65 million jobs had been added in China, and the number of migrant workers in cities had also increased following a decline in numbers in the last quarter of 2008.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
