Three Chinese telecom service operators–China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom–will launch a joint-action platform in mid-June to screen wireless short messages for spam.<\/p>\n
It is learned that, at the request of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the three parties have signed a framework agreement on handling the inter-network spam messages and they will make use of the new platform to solve the problem of short message spam.<\/p>\n
It is reported that operators whose clients' phone number is used to send the spam message shall be responsible for the punishment of offenders and the operators whose clients receive the spam message shall be responsible for collecting information and handling clients' complaints.<\/p>\n
So far, China Telecom has set up an inter-network spam message joint-action platform to screen and filter messages for spam. In addition it has fixed a work procedure for each of the operators to deal with clients' complaints. China Mobile says that it will work hard to crack down spam messages and further the protection of its client's information. The company says it has launched six service items including the spam message self-screening to prevent its clients from being disturbed by unwanted short messages.<\/p>\n
