The All China Federation of Trade Unions has issued a reminder which states that employers must not deduct or reduce their workers' salaries due to suspended work or shorter working hours resulting from high weather temperatures. <\/p>\n
ACFTU says that employers should pay high temperature subsidies to employees in addition to providing them with cool drinks at the work venue. Employees who suffer heat exhaustion due to hot weather or a humid work environment shall enjoy occupational injury insurance after they obtain a diagnosis from the medical department.<\/p>\n
According to relevant rulings of Beijing, from June to August, companies whose employees work outdoors or whose workplace temperature is higher than 33 degrees must pay a subsidy to the employees. Beijing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions requires that companies adjust their working hours and avoid to having employees work under high temperature. In addition, BMFTU asks companies to arrange a special room for employees who work in the heat to rest and improve their work conditions and environment.
