According to the distributor of imported Volkswagen cars, Volkswagen has begun to replace faulty direct-shift gearbox components for Chinese consumers to eliminate potential problems.<\/p>\n
The spokesman for the distributor said that the company would notify consumers to come in to have the oil temperature sensor on the gearbox of their cars replaced once a problem is identified. The spokesman stated that only a few car owners in China had had a problem with the gearbox.<\/p>\n
It is learned that direct-shift gearboxes have been installed on about 25,000 of a total of 100,000 Magotan cars made in China in addition to imported cars such as the Golf GTI, Volkswagen EOS, Volkswagen CC, and Phaeton. So far, the Volkswagen distributor has not received a notice to recall these cars in China. However, it states that Volkswagen has launched a pre-warning mechanism in China to deal with upcoming problems.<\/p>\n
