Some cities in China are offering free bicycle rental to promote the concept of Green Living.<\/p>\n
From October 1, 2009, Chizhou in Anhui province will launch a public bicycle service system offering 1,200 bicycles that people can borrow and return free of charge.<\/p>\n
It is learned that with an IC card (which needs to be applied for with a personal ID card), people can rent a bicycle and return it at no cost to any of the designated sites in the city from 07:00 to 21:00 every day. <\/p>\n
Changzhou in Jiangsu, has also launched a free bicycle rental card which can be applied with an application form and an ID. With the card, people can rent a bicycle free of charge across the city.<\/p>\n
It is understood that a number of cities in China are offering bicycle rental services, but with the exception of Hangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing, the scale of bicycle rental services in other cities is still very small.<\/p>\n
