The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China has published a blacklist of unqualified imported products for July 2009.<\/p>\n
A total of 154 imported products, including baby formula milk powder from MeadJohnson, concentrated orange juice from Pepsi, Danish Crown butter cookies biscuits, and Crayon Shinchan strawberry drinks, have been included in the list.<\/p>\n
Among the unqualified products, a batch of milk powder which was said to have been imported from Singapore was identified with enterobacter sakazakii, and two other batches, totaling 300 kilograms, were MeadJohnson milk powder that did not reach the protein standard for China.<\/p>\n
In addition, three batches of frozen concentrated orange juice imported by Pepsi from Brazil have been rejected for excessive yeast. These products weighed a total of 37.8 tons.<\/p>\n
Statistics from AQSIQ show that in the first quarter of this year, China identified a total of 1,800 batches of unqualified food products imported from other countries, which involved products from the United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and the EU. The problems of the products included harmful bacteria, micro-pollutants, excessive heavy metal and food additives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
