The Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Shanxi Province has announced that the Shanxi Province Labor Contract Regulations have gained the approval of Shanxi Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, and will be brought into effect from January 1, 2010. <\/p>\n

The regulations make clear definitions of the rights and interests of underground miners, part-time employees, retired people, and students.<\/p>\n

The regulations state that enterprises hiring underground miners must agree the duration of the labor contract with their workers and the minimum duration must be at least three years.<\/p>\n

It is required that enterprises employing senior citizens that enjoy old-age insurance benefits or have reached the statutory retirement age, or students over 16 years old for work study, shall sign written agreements to agree on remuneration, labor protection, and working conditions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
