The top ten municipalities in the green economic index are: Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Haikou, Qingdao, Wenzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, and Dalian.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, due to the unrestrained development in industrialization in many Chinese cities, the unwieldy economic and industrial structure, and the extensive growth model have led to the waste of resources and environmental damage. Specifically, northern Chinese cities have done badly in dust emissions while northern China is suffering from wastewater discharge.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report China must figure out a proper way to solve the contradiction between economic growth and resources and environment for its future development.
