Zhuhai in Guangdong province has initiated a new measure for water conservation.<\/p>\n
Zhuhai's water affairs department has said that if a company or individual uses more water in November than in October, then their water supply will be stopped.<\/p>\n
According to the measure, each household is encouraged to save about 1 cubic water each month and government departments and business undertakings will be supplied water at low pressure. In addition, the use of tap water for irrigating plants, for city sanitation, landscaping, or for washing cars, is banned.<\/p>\n
It is understood that Guangdong province has been suffering a shortage of rainfall since October. It is estimated that the precipitation in the region in the first half of November will still be 50%-60% less than that in past years and the drought in the east and west parts of province and in the Dongjiang and Hanjiang river ranges will continue this coming winter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
