In a reprise of the melamine scandals of 2009, the Shanghai Municipal Food Safety Joint Conference Office has announced that the Shanghai Panda Dairy Company has been punished by the local food supervision department for producing and selling dairy products contaminated with melamine.<\/p>\n

It is said that excessive melamine has been identified in four batches of milk powder products and in four batches of dairy seasoning made by SPDC. This is not the first time that the company has been included in the blacklist. It is learned that on September 16, 2008, when China's CCTV announced the results of the inspection on baby milk powder products sold across the country, a type of baby formula milk powder made by SPDC with the brand of Panda Kebao was found to contain as much as 619.00 milligrams of melamine for each kilogram of the product, which ranked the product only next to that of Sanlu in terms of melamine content.<\/p>\n

So far, the local food supervision department has revoked the dairy's food production license, its food sanitation license, and its business licenses, and three peopled including the company's general manager, and deputy general manager of its legal representative have been prosecuted for this offense.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
