Based on the Provisions on the Administration of Recall of Defective Auto Products issued by China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, Shanghai General Motors is contacting owners of imported Captiva cars to recall the vehicles for repair due to the risk of steering malfunction.<\/p>\n
The recall is said to involve a total of 2,065 imported Captiva cars which were made by GM Daewoo Auto in the Republic of Korea between September 18, 2007, and December 31, 2007.<\/p>\n
The reason for the recall is the steering column and steering intermediate shaft on some of the vehicles were not fully connected, which may affect the control of the vehicle in some extreme cases.<\/p>\n
So far, Shanghai GM has not received any reports from consumers on the defect. But AQSIQ has stopped the importation of these vehicles from GM Daewoo Auto.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
