IBM has developed a spam message testing and analyzing system for China Mobile, one of the world's largest mobile operators, to help the company track the message sending habits of its users.<\/p>\n
According to local media, China Mobile uses the new system in answer to a campaign launched by the Chinese government against unsolicited wireless short messages.<\/p>\n
Li Shigong, the chief technology officer of IBM Greater China, said that with the system China Mobile will focus on analyzing message transmission instead of content filtering. Li said it violates privacy rules to judge a sender of spam messages by the content they send, but it also is a problem to judge by the number of messages they send, as there will be huge number of short messages sent by ordinary users during the traditional holidays like the Chinese New Year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
