Yesterday, a male passenger surnamed Yang suddenly fell sick one hour after CA933, a flight enroute to Paris from Beijing, took to the air.
Although there were two doctors on board who performed emergency treatment for Yang, he was not responding. In consideration of the patient's critical situation, the captain of the flight decided to fly back to Beijing Capital Airport immediately. At the time of the captain's decision, the flight was near Ukraine.
The plane had been filled with enough fuel for its scheduled nine hour trip. However, to make sure it could land safely, Air China had to release about 50 tons of fuel in the air, which cost it more than RMB200,000.
There is no word yet on Yang's current condition.
