Qantas Workers Worry That Jobs May Go To China
An airline union fears for the future of some Qantas workers at Brisbane Airport. Qantas has confirmed it is considering a substantial restructure of the airline's maintenance operations, and outsourcing overseas is a possibility.
Australian Manufacturing Workers Union state secretary Andrew Dettmer said Qantas had an obligation to maintain its Brisbane engineering and maintenance facilities because State Government money had gone into their establishment.
