The China Electronic Chamber Of Commerce (CECC) has been approved by the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) to form the Consumer Electronics Product After-Sales Service Special Committee to ensure the successful implementation of consumer-friendly policies.
Wang Yaoguang, deputy director from the Human Resources Division of MII, says that with electronic goods entering millions of households, after-sales service for these goods has become an issue of wide concern.
The purpose of setting up this special commission is to enact comsumer-friendly guarantees and help decrease complaints from consumers.
According to Wang Ning, a deputy at CECC, the new commission will focus on five major areas: coordinating with the concerned government departments in revising guarantee policies; setting up standards for consumer electronics makers' after-sales services; receiving, analyzing, and replying to consumers' complaints; making qualification standards for the repair sites; and settling disputes in a fair manner.
22 enterprises including Lenovo, Tsinghua Tongfang, Founder, HP, Sony, TCL and Canon have joined the commission and have become the first group of members.
