The Fuzhou Happy Carnival International Amusement Park, the first mobile amusement park in Fujian Province, has been closed down by the Department of Industry and Commerce for running without a license and illegally organizing lucky draws.
12 game machines and four 4 dynamos at the locale have also been sealed and their assets confiscated.
The Fuzhou Happy Carnival, hosted by Fujian Wangshiping Film and TV Cultural Company was opened before the Spring Festival. But the Department of Industry and Commerce said that it had not applied for a business license and was not qualified to do so because it had not been duly approved by the Health Department, Environment Department and Public Security Department.
In addition, it was accused of engaging in improper competition by launching a price promotion worth more than RMB500,000, consisting of deluxe suites, QQ cars, televisions and mobile phones. Happy Carnival neither provided valid evidence for the substantial prizes nor showed the consumers any details as to how to claim the prizes.
There was also hidden trouble on the games equipment in the venue, and authorities suspect the electronic games were cheating consumers.
