Lushan Scenic Spot Will Limit Visitors To Protect Environment
China's Lushan Scenic Spot Management Bureau hopes to maintain a better ecological balance and announced that starting immediately it will limit the number of visitors to the Lushan Scenic Spot to 1.8 million per year and no more than 5000 per day.
In 2005, Lushan received 1.54 million visitors, an increase of 10% than that of the previous year.
Local media quotes experts who had conducted a suvey on the site and agree it is reasonable to keep the visitor number to Lushan at 1.8 million each year.
The Lushan Scenic Spot Management Bureau will also adopt different prices for the low season and mid-season to better control travelers. The door ticket will be RMB100 for the low season and RMB135 for mid-season.
