"Changing Young Lives Foundation" is the new name for Save the Children Hong Kong, a local charity that runs education, health and welfare programmes for disadvantaged children in Hong Kong and mainland China.

Announcing the development, Bonnie Wong, the continuing Chairman of Changing Young Lives Foundation said, "Our association with the International Save the Children Alliance has been long and successful. Our decision to leave the Alliance reflects our maturity as a local charity and our wish to focus on our own Hong Kong and China programmes."

Everything at the charity except its name and international affiliation will remain the same including its Council,
Committees, Members and Patron, The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, The Honorable Donald Tsang.

The International Save the Children Alliance's Chief Executive Officer, Burkhard Gnaerig said, "Hong Kong has been an important flagship for Save the Children in Asia for the past 22 years. The charity has provided some vital support for children going back to the difficult days of the Vietnamese refugee camps. Its work has been much appreciated and we wish the Changing Young Lives Foundation well in their continuing operations that help young people in Hong Kong and China."

Changing Young Live Foundation Executive Director, Marcia Aw, emphasized, "It is essential that our donors and other stakeholders understand that everything except the name and affiliation remains the same. Our Patron, our Council, our Committees, and our programmes will continue exactly as in the past as we strive to change young lives for the better," she added.
