HP has officially unveiled its 2006 Global Citizenship Report, which describes the company's global citizenship activities worldwide and charts the company's progress, as well as challenges, for the previous fiscal year.
The report highlights the company's completion of 85 audits against the company's supplier code of conduct in China and other countries.
It also outlines detailed updates on HP's three global citizenship priority areas: reducing product environmental impacts, raising social and environmental responsibility standards in the supply chain, and increasing access to information technology.
"The 2006 Global Citizenship Report represents our company's worldwide effort to report transparently on progress we have made against our global citizenship objectives," said Diana Bell, senior vice president, Corporate Affairs and Total Customer Experience and Quality, HP. "We take pride in our progress and the efforts of our many committed employees, even as we acknowledge the work that lies ahead."
Where appropriate, HP's Global Citizenship Report uses Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines as a basis for reporting. The GRI is a multi-stakeholder institution that publishes globally applicable sustainability reporting guidelines.
