The Fujian Provincial Tourism Administration says 12 three-star hotels in the province have been revoked of their star qualification for various reasons.
The 12 hotels are Fujian Nanyang Hotel, Fuqing Hotel, Fuzhou Century New Huadou Hotel, Fuzhou Haishan Hotel, Pingtan Tiantian Hotel, Lianjiang Jinfeng Hotel, Wuyishan Baihua Villa, Wuyishan Luyuan Postal Hotel, Zhangzhou Xiangjiang Hotel Cuizhu Lou, Fuding Haixing Hotel, Xiamen Fuju Hotel and Xiamen Luzhou Hotel.
The first eight hotels lost their star grade because of unqualified firefighting facilities and old equipment, and the latter four for changing their hotel services and quality.
In 2005, Fujian Province says it totally checked 357 three-star hotels.
The province plans to increase its hotel numbers by 50% during the 11th Five-Year Plan Period and make the total number reach 600.
