The Hainan Provincial Tourism Administration has announced that all 70 scenic spots in the province need to finish their reconstruction of star-grade toilets before June 30.
After that date, inspectors will survey the quality of the toilets and grade the facilities based on cleanliness, general environment, use of signs, and accessibility.
The Hainan Provincial Tourism Administration says those 1A-3A tourism spots should have 3-star quality or above toilets, while 4A and 5A spots must have 5-star quality toilets.
