Beijing Red Cross Launches Humanitarian Relief Action

Beijing Red Cross has launched a special relief action called "2006 Humanity in Beijing" to mark this year's World Red Cross Day.
As part of the action, Beijing Red Cross will raise RMB12 million earmarked for poverty-stricken areas of Beijing
.
Beijing Red Cross has promised to spend the money on medical assistance for 50,000 poor children in 18 districts and counties of Beijing. Part of the funds will also assist 5000 poor families and provide tuition assistance to 5000 low-income students.
