Beijing Municipal Education Department says that it will install mobile phone screening devices during this year's college entrance examination and senior high school entrance examination in order to prevent illegal transmission of answers through mobile phones.

The department says that the devices will just block mobile phone signals inside the examination room, and they will not affect people living in the surrounding areas of the schools.

The education department is also planning a long-distance electronic patrol system to track the whole examination process.

Apart from the college entrance examination and senior high school entrance examination, such modern technology as mobile phone screening devices will also be adopted for other national exams including the Adult Examinations.
