Sixty travel agencies from Yunan and Hainan, the two big tourism provinces in China, have voluntarily signed a travel convention in an effort to fight poor competitive practices.
Shen Tao, who is in charge of the program, says this activity was initiated by four travel agencies in Yunnan in June, and they were later joined by travel agencies in Hainan.
At present, there are more than 60 travel agencies who have joined the program, and 50 of them are from Yunnan Province.
The core content of the convention is "credibility": all the travel agencies must provide high quality services and products at fair prices; they must oppose unfair competition; they will adopt unified promotions, quoted prices, adjustments and air tickets.
The credibility organization has launched 11 group travel routes to Hainan and several FIT routes to Sanya. China Eastern, China Southern and Hainan Airlines said that they will provide group air tickets to the members of the organization.
