The efforts of disadvantaged children to help raise awareness and funds for underprivileged young people in Hong Kong will be the focus of a unique photographic exhibition that is taking place this week at The Rotunda.
"Before we started, many of the children had never used a camera," expressed the Changing Young Lives Foundation's Executive Director, Ms. Marcia Aw. "This exhibition is therefore a celebration of their work and an example of how some of the most vulnerable young members of our society have enormous potential and creativity and can produce campaigns and resources to help other children."
Entitled "Snapshots by Young Hearts," the exhibition features the work of thirty disadvantaged children aged between eight and eleven from across Hong Kong who have been working with the Changing Young Lives Foundation to raise awareness of the plight of the 260,000 underprivileged children in the Special Administrative Region (SAR).
The budding photographers are part of a community of over 3,000 young people across Hong Kong and China who the charity supports each day through its comprehensive portfolio of social programmes that span the areas of development, education, health, participation and protection.
As a youth authored campaign, the week long "Snapshots by Young Hearts" photographic exhibition showcases highly creative, compelling and personal pictures taken by children supported by the Changing Young Lives Foundation, highlighting their day-to-day experience of living as a disadvantaged minor in Hong Kong.
