In order to better protect consumers, the Guangzhou Travel Agencies Association and Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong have signed the "Guangzhou – Hong Kong Credibility Travel Cooperation Memo" and published the minimum price for one-day trips to Hong Kong.

Li Zhixin, deputy director general of the Guangzhou Municipal Tourism Bureau, explained that the lowest price will be a warning for consumers as it tells them that prices lower than this one may involve fraud.

The new price published for Guangdong citizens who take a one-day trip to Hong Kong is RMB98. It will be implemented from September 1.

Also, 24 members of GTAA and other four travel agencies have signed a memo on outbound trips and they have agreed to jointly carry out the new minimum price for Hong Kong trips.

The RMB98 includes transfer fee (RMB40-50), lunch (RMB23) and bus rental (RMB35-50) in Hong Kong.
