MII Releases New Rules For Consumer Disputes

China's Ministry of Information Industry has released a new rule for dealing with mobile information service disputes.
The rule says service providers should provide relevant evidence in case of short message disputes.
The new rule, which is called "Detailed Rules on Implementing Information Service Users' Complaints" stipulates the procedure for accepting users' complaints, saying that the operator and the relevant service provider should jointly investigate after receiving users' complaints. The operator must provide feedback on the investigation's result and the service provider must compensate the user if the problem proves to be true.
The highlight of this new rule is that it asks the operator and service providers to jointly provide relevant evidence in case of service disputes with users. This exempts users from the trouble of producing evidence.
