Beijing Consumer Hotlines Will Be Unified

According to the Market Supervision Plan of Beijing Department of Industry and Commerce for 2006 and 2010, the city will set up a consumer protection commission and unify its various consumer complaints reporting hotlines into one special number.

A representative from BDIC says that the city will combine all the special number resources into one special number, which means that consumers no longer need to call the complaint reporting hotline of each individual department when there is a dispute. Instead, they only need to dial the special number to report their complaints.

According to the plan, an online office platform that connects each government department will be arranged within the next five years to provide open information inquiry and registration service to the citizens of Beijing.
