China's State Environmental Protection Administration is planning to build 22 national nature reserves, which have already been approved by the State Council.
Different from the past, the State Council specifically mentioned this time that the core area of those new nature reserves must not be used for travel activities or production facilities.
The State Council also emphasized that all the construction projects in the experimental area of the nature reserve regions should be assessed for their environmental impact and undergo tests first before they are put into operation.
