Chongqing is conducting a special check on all the fake brands sold at the top grade hotels in the city.

The Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Commerce says it will conduct a check of the boutiques in the hotels, and those who sell counterfeit brand products will be punished.

The trademark department of the Bureau of Industry and Commerce says that the campaign will last until the end of this year, and mainly focus on the boutiques in 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star hotels.

The local government has not specified what type of punishment violators face, but most municipalities revoke business licenses and confiscate all goods from the offending stores.
