Ou Xinqian, deputy director of China's National Development and Reform Commission, said that NDRC will make great efforts to promote sustainable growth within the industry. She made the remarks during the 2006 Annual Meeting for Corporate Social Responsibility of the China National Textile and Apparel Council.

Sun Ruizhe, vice chairman of CNTAC, says that overtime work, lack of labor contracts, use of child labor, and lack of fixed salaries and other welfare guarantees exist in all the textile companies in the investigation.

Ou Xinqian says that NDRC will support the CSC9000T project initiated by CNTAC by choosing 10 textile groups to be the trial areas for CSR implementation; helping to establish CSC9000T in 100 key textile companies; and training 1000 small textile companies to form sustainable business practices.

Ou also warns of separating the formation of corporate social responsibility at businesses from actual business. She says that the construction of CSR should promote the establishment of better communication and cooperation among all the related parties within the global textile supply chain.
