The Beijing Municipal Work Safety Bureau and Commerce Bureau have asked Watsons to secure all its stores in Beijing after finding safety issues at the Watsons Oriental Plaza outlet.

Watsons Oriental Plaza store was found to have some safety problems such as emergency exit and evacuation routes blocked by shelves during a check led by Lu Hao, Vice Mayor of Beijing. Therefore, the store was asked to make changes within one day.

In the meantime, the inspection team also checked the Watsons in Xidan Plaza, where there were similar safety risk problems.

According to a representative from Beijing Municipal Work Safety Bureau, both the Beijing Municipal Work Safety Bureau and Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau will discuss with the head management of Watsons on a general plan to renovate all the Watsons stores in Beijing to ensure future security.
