The Guangdong Corporate Social Responsibility Seminar, the first provincial-level corporate social responsibility seminar, has been formally unveiled in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong Province.
GCSRS consists of about 250 members, including experts and scholars from over 60 academies and principals from more than 50 large and medium-sized enterprises in Guangdong Province. It has been established to popularize CSR awareness and offer theoretical support to local enterprises in carrying out their corporate social responsibility.
As the birthplace of China's reform and opening up movement, Guangdong Academy of Social Science studied CSR problems and established the first SA8000 website and professional database in China in 2003. It also published China's first blue book on CSR in 2004.
