China's Ministry of Health has advised citizens to take precautions in preparation of a potential flu outbreak on a national scale.
The Ministry announced that the northern part of China is experiencing rapidly increasing numbers of flu cases. Since December 2006, there has been an average of 5,000 patients infected with flu viruses per day in Beijing.
In addition to that notification, an officer from the Ministry of Health of Indonesia confirmed that on December 12, 2006 another patient died of Bird Flu. On January 10, 2007, the Minister of the Department of Health of Anhui Province, China announced a confirmed diagnosis of a Bird Flu case and that the source of the infection has not yet been located.
Xuelian Bian, CEO and Chairman of Linkwell Corp., stated, "We have informed all of our divisions to be ready for a rapid increase in demand for our disinfectants in those areas where outbreaks occur. We have gained significant experience from last year's outbreak of bird flu and will be in a position to rapidly deploy our products as demand increases. We are communicating with hospitals on a daily basis and make sure that they have sufficient emergency supplies and we are increasing raw material purchasing and inventories in case the demand spikes with the severity of any outbreaks."
