Seeking an Executive of Quality, Environment & Safety at Maersk.
General Areas of Responsibilities:
* Establish an Integrated Management System by co-ordinating with external bodies and internally with all levels of staff (including subcontracted staff) and reach set objectives within specified time frame. Achieve aggressive revenue and volume target.
* Do appropriate and adequate publicity on the Integrated Management System to all levels of staff to ensure all get the necessary awareness and information on the Integrated Management System. Maintain good relationship with existing on-dock depots and secure BSSCL’s positions in the depots.
* Plan, organise, co-ordinate and/or deliver appropriate training to all levels of staff in regard to the Integrated Management System.
* Be ready to take up the administration work inside the department.
* Ensure that a high safety standard is maintained on sites in accordance with Brigantine’s Quality, Environmental and Safety & Health Policy as well as statutory requirements. Evaluate and recommend new services/ product development.
* Advise the management on the measures to be taken in the interest of the Integrated Management System.
* Advise the management on legal and contractual requirement affecting safety, health and welfare of the employees.
* Advise the management on potential hazards on new work before commence.
* Advise the management updated information in legislation and codes of practice.
* Represent Company to liaise with Government Officials and professional bodies regarding safety and health issue.
* Carry out various projects and report accordingly as requested by the Department Head and/or General Manager.
* Attend courses as laid out by training programme and do this with a positive mind for learning.
Specific Areas of Responsibilities:
* Prepare inspection programme and to conduct inspection to identify potential hazards and adverse environmental aspects and report the findings with recommendations for correction to the management.
* Investigate incidents (with or without personal injury) and dangerous occurrences and report with recommendations for prevention to site management and to prepare statistics.
* Accompany Government Officials for site visits and act upon their recommendations.
* Issue inspection reports to appropriate personnel for findings during inspections.
* Keep records, reports and all necessary documents that are required by laws, by the Clients or the Company.
* Identify safety training needs and to prepare safety training programme and to implement safety training of all levels of employees on site.
* Keep up-to-date codes of practice and new QES literature; circulate relevant information to various employees to induce QES knowledge.
* Develop security management system for Brigantine SZH in line with the Group’s requirements and present security improvement advice to management.
Specific Requirements for the Position:
* Hold diploma or above in Engineering, Quality Management, Environment Management or Occupational Health & Safety Management.
* Be at least a Certified Safety Officer (Secondary Level) in PRC.
* Acquire at least 2 years of Quality, Environment and/or Occupational Health and Safety Management experience in container, logistics, engineering, marine, workshop industries.
* Have good understanding in legal requirements pertaining to Quality, Environment and/or Occupational Health and Safety in PRC.
* Have sound knowledge and hand-on experience in developing, implementing, maintaining and improving ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems.
* Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin, Cantonese an added advantage.
