SMBQTS: More Than 70% Of Online Toys Unqualified
Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision's test results show that only 29.3% of toys bought online are qualified, which is 58 percent lower than that of the same period of last year.
According to local media reports, SMBQTS bought 58 children's toys, ranging from soft stuffed toys to electric toys and paper toys, from seven famous online shopping websites including Taobao.com and eBay Eachnet. Its test results showed 41 of the 58 toys were unqualified.
The main problems of the unqualified toys included non-standard marks and usage specifications. 29 of the 58 toys were reported to not have any Chinese signs of a manufacturer's name, manufacturer's address or product name. 15 of them have quality problems such as components easily falling.
SMBQTS said 21 of the 58 toys provided formal invoices to the consumers, and 13 did not offer any invoices or receipts, which made it difficult for consumers to claim their rights in case of quality disputes.
SMBQTS reminds consumers to learn as much as possible about a toy seller's information before they make the purchase and keep the trade record and invoices for any potential disputes.
