Marriott hotels in Beijing and Tianjin have worked with local partners to raise RMB70,000 for Safe Kids China.

The Beijing Marriott Hotel West, Renaissance Beijing Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Beijing, Marriott Executive Apartments Beijing, Tianjin TEDA Renaissance Hotel & Convention Centre, Renaissance Tianjin Hotel, Jing Guang New World Hotel & Jing Guang Centre and the soon-to-open JW Marriott Hotel Beijing joined together with Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China and The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Beijing Municipality for the charity golf day in support of Safe Kids China charity foundation at Beijing Earls Golf Club.

There are more than 50 players participating in the tournament and they raised a total of RMB70,000 for Safe Kids China, a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of organizations dedicated to preventing accidental childhood injuries.

Sponsors donating prizes to the event included Beijing Yan Bao Auto, who donated a mini cooper as a hole-in-one prize; Asian Tigers K. C. Dat (China) Ltd; CR Logic Office Furniture (Zhuhai) Ltd. Beijing Branch; Beijing Yan Bao Auto; Destination Travel International; ECOLAB; Pro-Health, ASC Fine Wines, Coffex Coffee, Li Ning Sports, Pepsi, Cheng Bao, Evian and Aussino World Wines.

Safe Kids China started in 1999, thanks to generous support from Johnson & Johnson. An online campaign to educate parents about home safety was the feature of Safe Kids Week in 2003.

More than 51,000 parents and children in 18 cities participated in China's Safe Kids Week 2005, from May 29 to June 4. Safe Kids Week educated parents and children about preventing accidental injuries through a series of indoor and outdoor child safety activities, including on-site doctor consultations and interactive safety games. Programs focused on fall-related injuries, the third leading cause of accidental injury deaths in the country and the number one cause of nonfatal injuries among urban children.
