More than 20 staff from Beijing Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications Company in Beijing contracted food poisoning after they ate food at the company's canteen.
According to local media reports, some of the staff were taken to a local hospital for treatment. So far, one of them has recovered and the Beijing Chaoyang District Health Department has begun to investigate on the case.
The workers were reportedly working a night shift to make mobile phones. A preliminary investigation shows that they all ingested the same stir-fried food.
Ning Shuyong, spokesperson from Sony Ericsson China, said that the company is coordinating with the health departments in the investigation. Ning said that the company had attached much attention to food safety in the past and they would further strengthen their food safety control after this accident.
