China Approves Establishment Of Three Electronics Pollution Control Institutions

The Ministry of Information Industry has approved the establishment of three Chinese electronic product pollution control institutions to undertake the tasks of testing, training, consulting, standard making, energy saving and recycling of electronic products.
The three institutions are Electronic Information Product Pollution Control Technology Promotion Center of MII set up by China Electronics Standardization Institute; Electronic Information Products Pollution Control Saibao Checking Center of MII set up by the Fifth Electronic Research Institute; and China Telecommunication Technology Labs Environment Protection Promotion Center of MII by Telecom Research Institute.
A representative from MII says that the purpose of setting up these institutions is to better implement the Electronic Information Product Pollution Control and Management Measure and provide service and technical support to China's electronic pollution control work.
Enforced as of March 1, 2007, Electronic Information Product Pollution Control and Management Measure is the first green regulation in China's electronic industry.
