China Communications Standards Association is working with the State Environment Protection Administration on making an industry standard regarding the safety mechanisms of communications products.
This is meant to unify the testing standard of various kinds of equipment and solve such problems as electromagnetism and noise disturbance by referring to a professional index.
The Communications Product Environment Protection Standard Special Task Team, jointly set up by CCSA and SEPA, has reportedly already held full discussions on seven programs under the first part of the standard and preliminarily fixed a framework for each standard. According to a member of the Team quoted in local media, the testing method of the harmful substances has been unified in the standard, but the testing index has remained the same.
This environmental protection standard can really only help identify problems, so its greatest importance is to show enterprises the importance of creating safe products.
