The Environment Department and Tourism Department of Fengze District of Quanzhou, Fujian Province have recently inspected the water use in hotels across the district and instructed 60 hotels to install water-saving facilities.
There are more than 60 hotels and bathing centers in Fengze District. As they are all major water consumers, they have been set as the main target for implementing the water-saving initiative.
By focusing on the hotels and bathing centers, the departments have sent special personnel to guide the hotels in installing water-saving facilities and teaching their staff and guests on how to save water. It is estimated in local media that up to 2 million tons of water can be saved annually if each of the hotels and bath centers can fully implement the water saving plan of saving 30000 tons of water.
