News from Dongguan Municipal Environment Protection Bureau is that Dongguan will enforce a new environmental measure from October 1 and award those who report environment infringement to the environment department.
The new measure, which is called "Dongguang's Provisional Measure on Awarding The Reporting of Illegal Industrial Waste Water Emission", will be implemented from October and will be valid until September 30, 2010.
It says if a person's report on the illegal environmental behavior proves true and the violator involved in the report has been asked to pay a fine, then the person can be awarded from 30%-80% of the fine. DMEPB will set a special telephone hotline of 12369 to receive the report of environment infringement.
