Yemen's official news agency reports that Yemen's southern port city of Aden has sealed a batch of China-made toothpaste that contained excessive diethylene glycol.

Local Chinese media report that the deputy director of Aden Standard and Quality Inspection Department was cited as saying that the sealed toothpaste with the trademark of "SMILE2″ had been identified to contain excessive diethylene glycol and they might be returned to the producers. Yemen authorities have reportedly issued a notice to each of their health departments, asking them to ban the shipment of the toothpaste to Yemen and remove them from shops, if already delivered.

According to the report, the Saudi Arabia Trade Department has also confiscated and destroyed seven types of toothpaste made in China.
