Citrix Systems says it contributed additional licenses to power and secure the delivery of the Special Olympics' medical record systems to all of the 22 sporting venues for over 7,500 athletes in the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Shanghai on October 2 – 11, 2007.
The company's Medical Encounter Software held the critical medical histories and records for each of the 7,500 athletes from more than 160 participating countries at the World Games, and was centrally hosted and delivered securely via Citrix application delivery infrastructure to disparate devices at all 70 competition, special event and housing venues located across 19 Shanghai Districts.

The MES software is provided by Health One Global, the exclusive Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Global Partner for electronic health records.
Citrix contribution of the application delivery infrastructure solutions include 260 concurrent user licenses of Presentation Server, Enterprise Edition that centralize all the applications including the mission-critical Medical Encounter Software and Games Management Systems, as well as 780 concurrent user licenses of the Citrix Access Gateway1.
